Nick Cannon To Host Syndicated Talk Show

The new syndicated daytime show from Lionsgate’s Debmar-Mercury is slated to debut in 2020.

Lionsgate’s Debmar-Mercury today announced a deal to have entertainer/entrepreneur Nick Cannon host a new, nationally syndicated daytime talk show next year to be co-produced with his production company, Ncredible Entertainment.

After more than 20 years as a host, comedian, actor, producer, rapper, writer, director, deejay, philanthropist, children’s book author and activist, Cannon is moving into daytime talk after hosting two primetime network series, Fox’s The Masked Singer, and, NBC’s America’s Got Talent for eight seasons.

Debmar-Mercury Co-Presidents Mort Marcus and Ira Bernstein said: “We are excited to be able to announce this collaboration with Nick, who has proven himself to be such a dominant creative and entrepreneurial force across film, primetime TV, music, comedy, stage and online platforms. The daytime audience got to see that firsthand earlier this year with his stellar performance guest hosting The Wendy Williams Show. Now we can’t wait to see Nick put his own unique stamp on talk and add daytime to his impressive list of accomplishments.”

Said Cannon: “After leaving America’s Got Talent, I wanted to focus on developing my own talk show. I’ve always dreamed of a platform where I can speak to America and discuss pop culture, as well as the topics on everyone’s minds. When I had the opportunity to guest host at my good friend Wendy Williams’ show this year, I experienced the energy and excitement of a daytime talk show and instantly knew I found my audience.”

In addition to hosting The Masked Singer and AGT, Cannon is perhaps best known for his work as a producer, creator and host for 13 seasons of the MTV sketch show Wild ‘N Out, which the network has ordered through Season 16.

In 2017, Cannon released his comedy special, Stand Up, Don’t Shoot, and concluded a cross-country live tour with select Wild ‘N Out comics and improvisation artists. In 2018, he launched the “Wild ‘N Out Live” Tour with AEG, embarking on a 25-city arena tour. “Wild ‘N Out Live” will begin a new 30-city arena tour in March 2020.

BRAND CONNECTIONS

Additionally, Cannon hosted Fox’s Teen Choice 2018, Nickelodeon’s Lip Sync Battle: Shorties and Nickelodeon’s Halo Awards, which he also served as creator and executive producer.

This past July, Cannon moved into morning drive time radio in Los Angeles, launching Nick Cannon Mornings on KPWR-FM, Power 106.
