Schneider’s ‘Jeopardy’ Swan Song Hits Sweet Note

Her last week atop the syndicated game delivered a 6.6 rating, an increase of 2% from the week before and a gain of 12% from last year at this time.

Super-contestant Amy Schneider’s parting gift to Jeopardy in the last full week of her record run was a first-place finish featuring a sparkling 6.6 live-plus-same-day national Nielsen rating. That marked an increase of 2% from the week before and a gain of 12% from last year at this time in the session ending Jan. 23. Schneider’s spectacular winning streak was snapped on Jan. 27 after 40 consecutive victories.

Among magazines, Extra and TMZ were hot, with both hitting new season highs. The Billy Bush-hosted Extra unleashed a 17% surge to a 0.7 and was the category’s only show in the top five to hold 100% of its ratings from last year at this time.

Meanwhile, TMZ tallied a 14% gain to a 0.8.

Major movers in talk circles were Ellen DeGeneres, which darted ahead 10% to match its best stats of the season at a 1.1, and Wendy Williams, which perked up 14% to a 0.8 with guest hosts Kym Whitley and Finesse Mitchell.

Dr. Phil led the talkers for a third straight week with a healthy 1.8, up 6% from the same week one year ago.
