WEEKLY SYNDICATION RATINGS ROUNDUP

Syndies Split The Ticket Between Gainers And Losers

Just about as many shows in the session ending March 26 reported Nielsen ratings that improved on the previous frame as shows that dropped lower. Jeopardy was the overall (and game) leader, gaining 2% to a 5.2.

The week ending March 26 was inconclusive for syndication with almost as many shows going up as going down according to the Nielsen Syndication Service national ratings.

Talk shows, led by Live with Kelly and Ryan, were mixed. The veteran talker was down 6% to 1.5. Dr. Phil recovered 9% from its season low 1.1 to 1.2. Kelly Clarkson rallied 11% to 1.0, and Drew Barrymore was unchanged at 0.9.

Among the freshmen, Sherri led the field at a flat 0.7, Jennifer Hudson remained at 0.6, while Pictionary was the only new talker to rise, climbing 25% to 0.5.

Reruns of Judge Judy continued to preside over the court shows by more than a margin of 2 to 1. Judy gained 3% to 4.0, while colleague Hot Bench was steady at 1.2. People’s Court rounded out the top three with 0.7, down 13% from the previous week.

Inside Edition and stablemate Entertainment Tonight tied at 2.1 to lead the magazines. Access Hollywood was third at an unchanged 0.8.

Jeopardy not only led the game shows but also all of syndication with a 5.2 rating, up 2% from the prior week. Family Feud rose 4% to 4.8, while Wheel of Fortune was unchanged at 4.5.

BRAND CONNECTIONS

As usual, Big Bang Theory led the off-net sitcoms scoring a steady 1.8. Second-place Last Man Standing was also unchanged with 1.1.

Dateline, despite dropping 3% to 3.6, continued to lead the off-net weekly hours. Law & Order: SVU placed second with a 16% drop to 1.6, while Chicago P.D. was third with 1.2, up 9%.
