WSVN Miami Renews Its Fox Affiliation

The Sunbeam-owned station makes a multi-year deal after 30 years with the Fox network.

Sunbeam Television-owned WSVN Miami (DMA 16) on Thursday signed a multi-year affiliation agreement with Fox Broadcasting. The station has been a Fox affiliate since 1989.

“We have enjoyed a 30-year partnership with the Fox network,” said Ed Ansin, WSVN owner and president. “Our strong news brand, viewer loyalty and Fox’s programming, which targets viewers 25-54, make us perfect partners.”

Each weekday WSVN airs 12 hours of local news and entertainment programming.  The station’s main anchor team, Craig Stevens and Belkys Nerey, has been together for 16 years, the longest running anchor team in the market.

WSVN produces the Help Me Howard with Patrick Fraser franchise, which solves issues and consumer problems for viewers. WSVN also produces an entertainment access show, Deco Drive.

Mike Biard, president, operations and distribution for Fox Corp., said: “Our relationship with Ed and the Sunbeam team is one of our longest and strongest affiliate partnerships. We are pleased to extend our affiliation with this station, which delivers high-quality local news that complements Fox’s leading sports and entertainment content.”
