Marshall Hites To Receive Promax Lifetime Award

Tribune Broadcasting’s SVP of marketing and creative services will be honored at the annual Promax Station Summit on June 20.

The 2019 Promax Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to Marshall Hites, senior vice president, marketing and creative services, Tribune Broadcasting. The award presentation will take place at the annual Promax Station Summit at The Mirage in Las Vegas.

Hites is a long-time Promax member, board member and a major supporter of the association. The award will be presented to him during an awards luncheon on June 20, with Larry Wert, president of Broadcast Media, Tribune, presenting the award.

The Promax Lifetime Achievement Award is the association’s highest honor, bestowed by the board of directors in recognition of outstanding achievement over the course of a career dedicated to celebrating excellence, driving talent, and connecting people.

Past recipients of the Promax Lifetime Achievement Award at Station Summit include veteran broadcast, creative services and marketing executive Lee Minard and former EVP at CBS Television Distribution, Michael Mischler.

Hites is an award-winning broadcast marketing executive with more than 50 years in local television. He oversees brand management, advertising, on-air promotion, graphics and design areas for Tribune Media’s 42 broadcast stations. Each of the individual station creative directors work directly with Hites on these and other matters related to the station’s branding, competitive positioning, and creative endeavors.

BRAND CONNECTIONS

He also oversees Tribune’s Los Angeles-based creative services team who create graphics and design packages for the station group, as well as numerous on-air promotion campaigns for Tribune-owned programming and other corporate creative initiatives. Tribune’s group level network and syndicator relations for advertising and promotion also fall under his purview.

Hites has been honored with dozens of industry awards for his award-winning promotion campaigns — including internationally recognized work for the Los Angeles Lakers — and innovative ads for the L.A. Dodgers featuring the world-famous Blue Man Group. He is the winner of numerous Promax, Emmy and other industry accolades, including the prestigious Promax International Brand Builder Award.
