Comark And VideoFlow Partner On ATSC 1.0 And 3.0 Solutions

Hitachi Kokusai Electric Comark, a manufacturer and supplier of DTV transmitters, encoding systems and associated field services for over 45 years, has signed a reseller agreement with VideoFlow for intelligent content delivery solutions over IP networks, including public internet. The VideoFlow products will be integrated into the end-to-end workflows for both ATSC 1.0 and 3.0 (NextGen TV).

Comark’s experience in headend designs and encoding systems began with the formation of Comark Digital Services during the original transition from analog to DTV.  Comark Digital Services (CDS) was re-launched in 2018 to help broadcasters upgrade their headend solutions for both ATSC 1.0 and migrate to NextGen TV.

The agreement appoints CDS as an authorized reseller of the VideoFlow Digital Video Protection (DVP) software suite and corresponding hardware appliances. VideoFlow’s DVP allows for the highest reliability of content protection and delivery through any IP network while providing the lowest OpEx solution. DVP also offers broadcasters additional capabilities including IP path diversity, spoke and hub architectures, content sourced from Cloud Services, and confidence monitoring.

Comark Digital Services will be focusing on the North American broadcast DTV market for ATSC 1.0 and NextGen TV solutions. CDS provides integration and system design services for TV stations to ensure a smooth installation process.

“Partnering with VideoFlow provides several important capabilities required in current and future headend system deployments for the CDS business,” said Tim Hosmer, director of CDS. “VideoFlow has pioneered and perfected methods of protected content delivery over any IP distribution network which will be key in both existing ATSC 3.0 lighthouse scenarios as well as future SFN deployments.”

“We are very excited to announce this partnership with Comark. We believe this joint solution will benefit the fast migration to NextGen TV, while utilizing VideoFlow’s “know how” in Internet and unmanaged IP networks to transport content with no compromise on video quality.” said Adi Rozenberg, CTO and co-founder of VideoFlow. “Comark vast experience in the broadcast market, and its end-to-end integration services offering, along with VideoFlow will allow smooth transition to the next era of television.”
