Chyron today announced that at IBC 2024 in the Amsterdam RAI Convention Center, Sept. 13-16., in Booth 7.B49, it will feature “innovation in sports graphics driven by collaborative relationships with major sports broadcasters to help them drive fan engagement for some of the world’s leading sporting events.”
Chyron will be sharing updates across its sports portfolio, including the graphics and data-display powerhouse, Chyron PRIME, along with the company’s PAINT (replay and telestration), VSAR (virtual production), VP (virtual ad placement), and Chyron LIVE (cloud-based live production) solutions.
“Nikole McStanley, Chyron product portfolio director, said: “The innovations that visitors will see in Chyron PRIME are the result of high level collaboration with key customers as well as the realization of a carefully planned long term roadmap. Chyron PRIME now gives both designers and playout operators tool sets that are powerful, yet easy to use; unparalleled native data parsing and integration; and a high degree of flexibility to make it the ideal graphics solution for any sports production.”
Chyron’s PRIME platform allows users to leverage the same design features to create and animate CG graphics, video walls and touchscreen graphics, enabling “powerful sports storytelling and fan engagement.” IBC attendees will be able to see a playout workflow that further simplifies operation while enabling greater control over the types of data displayed in live-to-air graphics.
New dynamic data functionality allows playout operators to control not just the display of real-time data in a graphic, but the data source and also the actions that data will trigger. Additionally, with highly configurable control panels, designers can provide access to specific parameters and give playout operators “just the right amount of control and flexibility.”
In addition to PRIME’s new features released in recent months, the company said that “with an aggressive development process designed to meet the needs of some of the most sophisticated sports broadcasters worldwide, Chyron will be unveiling a brand-new PRIME generation during the show.”
On its IBC Show booth, Chyron also will feature PAINT, “updated to enable even more flexible and dynamic sports analysis live on air.” PAINT’s newest updates include a Playlist eliminating the need for a traditional replay server along with an array of new telestration tools, 4K/UHD capabilities and additional options for skinning the interface for branded on air display.
Visitors can also see all enhancements made in recent releases including tracked and tuned telestration clips and richer effects, a new Highlight Pitch Zone tool, an enhanced CutOut tool, and an innovative Multi-Angle Telestration capability that preserves illustrations across multiple camera angles to provide a multi-dimensional view of key plays and strategies.
VSAR will also be on display, now with support for Unreal Engine 5. Experts will be on hand to discuss how it has been used recently to create exciting virtual environments for sports commentary and interviews.
Chyron’s Virtual Placement rounds out the offering for live sports production, “making it easy to add virtual graphics to any live broadcast for offsides lines or for virtual advertising on the field or around the pitch.”
