Interra Systems Offers New ORION 2110 Probe For IP Monitoring

Interra Systems, the provider of content QC, monitoring, and analysis solutions to the digital media industry, today announced the ORION® 2110 Probe for IP-based media workflows. The new platform supports the SMPTE ST 2110 standard, providing broadcasters with a future-proof, end-to-end monitoring solution for assuring exceptional video quality in an IP distribution environment.

The ORION 2110 Probe performs ST 2110 monitoring, including ST 2110 main and redundancy signals, and NMOS-based ST 2110 feed discovery in the network.

The company says that the probe addresses the diverse complexities and challenges of the SDI and IP environments, with a more simple, powerful approach to content monitoring, particularly for production and contribution applications. The ORION 2110 Probe also offers a set of REST APIs to help generate seamless integration with third-party software, including most network management systems.

The addition of the ORION 2110 Probe to the ORION monitoring platform will enable media companies to rapidly detect video quality issues throughout the entire video workflow, according to Interra Systems, including ingest, content preparation, and delivery. Gaining insights about video errors as early as the ingest stage enables broadcasters to improve video quality.
