Latakoo Names Erin Cargile Director Of Content And Training

Erin Cargile

Former Nexstar reporter Erin Cargile has been tapped to leading content development and training at video content transfer specialist Latakoo.

Cargile says the move felt like a perfect fit as she looked to transition from local news at NBC affiliate KXAN Austin, Texas, to the tech field. She spent 16 years in front of the camera and also worked behind the scenes shooting video, writing, and editing. Dedicated to creative and visually inspiring stories, she tackled everything from anchoring to investigative reporting.

As her star rose at KXAN, she says her most valuable news tool, Latakoo, was there every step of the way. She first started using it on a dream assignment to cover the 2018 Olympics in South Korea. Latakoo was the technology Cargile and her team relied on around the clock to deliver the action in PyeongChang to viewers at more than 100 Nexstar stations across the country. She says the technology was critical for huge projects like the Olympics, but also in the course of everyday stories. When the pandemic hit, Cargile says it would have been impossible for her to keep doing her job at the same pace without Latakoo.

“Whether it’s the ease of dragging and dropping a Zoom interview into the Flight app so that it’s back to the station in seconds, or shooting video on my phone and easily uploading it through the app so that it’s at everyone’s fingertips — the technology improved my workflow tremendously and increased the virtual collaboration among our team.”

Latakoo says knowing exactly what the technology does and the value it brings to journalists on a daily basis will allow Cargile to successfully support and train the large community of Latakoo users who speak the same language. She will be leading virtual events, extending the company’s reach and assisting with product development to elevate Latakoo’s game in the broadcast workflow automation marketplace.
