Technologists To Consider The Cloud And The Future Of News Workflow

The TV industry’s long journey from hardware to software and a global pandemic that has forced much of production into staffers’ dining rooms and spare bedrooms have combined to spur a question: just how much of news production can move into the cloud and how soon?

Leading technologists from WarnerMedia, ABC News, NBCU’s KXAS-KXTX Dallas, Ross Video and TVU Networks will take on the question during a TVNewsCheck Working Lunch Webinar, set for 1 p.m. ET on Thursday, Aug. 20. Glen Dickson, contributing editor at TVNewsCheck, will moderate the conversation that is likely to asses which parts of the workflow are best suited to move into the cloud first and which will either have to stay on premises or wait until issues such as latency are resolved.
