VIP Presenters Set For TVNewsCheck’s Women In Technology Awards

A slate of six VIP presenters will take the stage to introduce honorees at TVNewsCheck’s 13th annual Women in Technology Awards Presentation Ceremony.

Set to take place at 6 p.m. PT on Tuesday, April 18, during NAB Show in Las Vegas, the awards recognize women who have had a significant impact on the development of media industry technology, or who show great promise of doing so.

Three senior industry executives will present the Technology Women to Watch Awards, which turn a spotlight on rising stars in media and entertainment technology.

Terri Davies, president of the Trusted Partner Network, will introduce Hannah Barnhardt, COO and Co-Founder of TMT Insights.

Del Parks, president of technology at Sinclair Broadcast Group, will introduce Nadia Khan, CMO at LTN.

Abby Auerbach, chief communications officer at the Television Bureau of Advertising, will introduce Emily Stone, VP digital content and LiveNOW at Fox Television Stations. Auerbach received the 2019 Women in Technology Futurist Award in 2019 in part for her years-long effort to streamline local TV advertising transactions with the help of automation.

BRAND CONNECTIONS

Two more media and entertainment technology leaders will present the Technology Futurist Awards, which recognize women who have pioneered new technologies or who have significantly influenced the development of media industry technology.

Barbara Lange, founder and CEO of Kibo121, will introduce Suzana Brady, CMO of Cobalt Digital and chair of the RIST Forum. Lange is a 2020 recipient of the Women in Technology Leadership Award and has been leading an effort to shape industry strategy on sustainable technology.

Janet Gardner, president of Perspective Media Group, will introduce Chrystelle Le Gall, lead cloud solutions architect at Ateme. Gardner received the 2020 Women in Technology Futurist Award.

Marcy Lefkovitz, VP of technology and workflow strategy at Disney Content Operations, will present the evening’s highest honor, the Women in Technology Leadership Award, to Anne Schelle, managing director of the Pearl TV consortium of TV station groups. Lefkovitz accepted the 2021 Women in Technology Leadership Award. She is considered a pivotal force in bringing major technology projects to fruition.

The six VIP presenters highlighting this year’s Women in Technology Awards will join other industry VIPs at the event.

Michelle Lehman, NAB’s chief of staff and EVP public affairs, will offer a welcome to the audience from the industry’s leading trade association, while Tim Dotson, director of development at the NAB Leadership Foundation, will spotlight the work of its educational organization.

NABLF’s Technology Apprenticeship Program, which trains, informs and recruits a diverse workforce that meets the emerging technology and engineering needs of the broadcasting community, has long played a starring role at the awards, because the program supports the foundation.

Emceeing the awards presentation ceremony, which will be live-streamed to TVNewsCheck’s home page, YouTube channel and social media feeds, will be Kathy Haley, co-founder and publisher of TVNewsCheck.
