WEEKLY SYNDICATION RATINGS ROUNDUP

‘Family Feud,’ ‘Judge Judy’ Are Syndie’s 1-2 Punch

At 5.9 and 5.2 household ratings, respectively, the two set the pace in the session ending June 13, which included preemptions for French Open tennis.

Judge Judy, which is preparing to recuse itself from first-run syndication after 25 years on the bench, is going out with a flourish. In the face of daytime preemptions for nearly four hours of French Open tennis on June 10 and more than six hours of match coverage on June 11, Judy jumped 6% to a 5.2 live-plus-same-day national Nielsen rating in the session ending June 13.

The winning score sent the judicial juggernaut to a record 1,290 straight weeks at the very top of the syndicated court shows while demolishing everything else in the daypart. Season-to-date in the most current live-plus-7 household ratings, the iconic courtroom strip is the No. 1 program in all of syndication and has led all of first run every year since 2009.

For the frame ending June 13, Judy finished second on the chart behind only the access game Family Feud. Feud added 9% to a live-plus-same-day 5.9, outplaying all rival quiz and giveaway strips.

Jeopardy was next in the category, growing 4% to a 5.1 with a second stint for guest host Mayim Bialik.

Among talk shows, Live with Kelly and Ryan dipped 6% to a 1.6, but remained at the forefront for the fifth week in a row and has now been first or tied for first in the genre 34 times in the past 40 weeks.

Elsewhere, Entertainment Tonight advanced 5% to a 2.0 to top the entertainment magazines. In off-net, Big Bang Theory remained at its series-low 2.2 but continued to eclipse the sitcoms.
