WEEKLY SYNDICATION RATINGS ROUNDUP

‘Family Feud’ Tops Syndication

In the session ending May 16, access game show Family Feud grew 6% to a 5.6, its highest rating since the week of March 1 and took back the syndication lead from daytime juggernaut Judge Judy, which was second overall with a 5.3.

The big talk shows were the standouts in the session ending May 16, with Live with Kelly and Ryan racing ahead 6% to a 1.8 live-plus-same-day national Nielsen rating to tie Dr. Phil at the top.

The good doctor was the sole No. 1 in the prior week and upheld its 1.8. Live and Phil have been dead even in five of the past seven weeks, although Live is the season-to-date first-place talker.

Tamron Hall was the most improved show among the Big 6 in the genre, strengthening 14% to a 0.8. Hall battled fellow super sophomore Kelly Clarkson, which held its ground at a 0.8 to a draw.

Others moving up were Wendy Williams, which jumped 11% to a seven-week high 1.0, tying Ellen DeGeneres, which got an 11% boost after the strip’s “sayonara after next season” announcement.

Elsewhere, access game show Family Feud grew 6% to a 5.6, its highest rating since the week of March 1 and took back the syndication lead from daytime juggernaut Judge Judy, which was second overall with a 5.3.

Finishing third among all syndicated shows was Jeopardy at an unchanged 5.2 with guest host Bill Whitaker’s second go-round.

Poor Bill Whitaker was so out of his element on an entertainment show. His dry approach was tedious to watch and he was surprisingly stiff in the contestant interviews and interactions.. especially considering he is a journalist.. Ken Jennings and Buzzy Cohen remain my top Jeopardy guest hosts so far.
