BRAND CONNECTIONS

Tony Plosz, VP and CTO, Graham Media Group — He was named Graham Media Group’s vice president and chief technology officer in August 2019. Prior to joining GMG, Plosz was VP, engineering and operations for WCAU-WWSI, the NBC-owned duopoly in Philadelphia. During his tenure, Plosz oversaw the design and construction of an IP-based operation and one of the country’s most technologically advanced broadcast facilities located within the recently completed Comcast Technology Center.

Plosz has a rich and successful history working as a systems engineer for NetApp, a director of broadcast operations for KTTV-KCOP, the Fox duopoly in Los Angeles and over eight years as information services manager at WJBK, the Fox O&O in Detroit. Plosz began his career working in IT consulting and network architecture and security in the Detroit Area.

Janet Gardner, president, Perspective Media Group — Garndner leads PMG, a consulting team that works with major media companies on evolving their workflow, media management, metadata integration and their internal media supply chains to better meet the challenges of the digital and multi-platform on-demand media landscape.

The core of her focus is helping companies put the right capabilities (people, workflows, metadata and information models, systems and technical infrastructure) in place so they can more fully exploit their assets, and the related metadata, across distribution platforms. Doing so helps drive efficiencies throughout a company’s internal supply chain and amplifies new revenue and marketing opportunities. This includes evolving their internal planning process to consider multiplatform exploitation at the same time as on-air planning and rights deals are crafted.

Gardner and Perspective Media Group have worked in this capacity with companies including Fox, BBC, ABC/Disney, Turner, Scripps, A&E, Shaw Media and others.

She received her Master of Science from MIT and BArch from Ball State University.

Stephane Guez, co-founder/CTO, Dalet — He has 30 years of experience in computer sciences, software design and development, and information technology applied to the media and broadcast industries. Drawing on his extensive experience, he has contributed to turning a technology vision into a successful business venture.

A mathematics and computer sciences engineering graduate and Ph.D. holder from the Paris University, Guez launched his career as a post-doctoral research assistant at the University of Rochester (NY) before founding Dalet. He was, for many years, the director of research and development at Dalet, after which he moved to New York City to develop Dalet’s business in North America. As CTO, Guez focuses on company strategy and how software technology will continue to provide efficient business solutions to an industry that is undergoing major changes.

The session will be moderated by Glen Dickson, contributing editor, TVNewsCheck.
