ABC apologizes for flubbing Oscar nominations

ABC apologized Tuesday for a series of online Oscar foul-ups that incorrectly handed out nods and omitted at least one nominee.

Amy Adams and Annette Bening were wrongly named as Academy Award nominees for Best Actress while Tom Hanks was incorrectly listed as a Best Actor nominee.

Ruth Negga, nominated for Best Actress for her work in “Loving,” was briefly left off the Oscars list.

All the mistakes were up for only a few moments and quickly corrected.

“This morning, in an attempt to release breaking news as announced, ABC Digital briefly posted inaccurate nomination information on the Oscar.com website,” according to a network statement.

“The nominees announced by the Academy on Twitter were accurate. ABC quickly identified and corrected the errors. We apologize to the Academy, press and fans for any confusion.”

ABC is televising the 89th Academy Awards on Feb. 26 with host Jimmy Kimmel.
