ABC Stations Debut Entertainment News App

ABC Owned Television Stations Group has introduced OTRC: On The Red Carpet, an entertainment news app for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch available on the App Store. The new OTRC App, available for the first time for iPhone and iPod touch, offers content from OnTheRedCarpet.com and the television series On The Red Carpet, both produced by KABC Los Angeles.

The app also incorporates AirPlay, allowing many of the videos offered by OnTheRedCarpet.com to be streamed wirelessly to an HDTV television via Apple TV.

“Our original OTRC: On The Red Carpet entertainment news app has been tremendously popular on iPad, so we wanted to share the experience with the millions of iPhone and iPod touch users as well,” said Carla Carpenter, SVP, digital media, ABC Owned Television Stations Group. “People are more mobile today than ever before, and we are pleased we can deliver an experience that addresses their constantly changing media consumption habits.”

OnTheRedCarpet.com provides breaking entertainment news as well as original stories, exclusive video and aggregated content comprising celebrity, fashion, movies, television and more. On The Red Carpet, a weekly entertainment news show, highlights the week’s developments in celebrity and style. On The Red Carpet gives viewers front-row access to premieres, award shows and special events, celebrity interviews, red carpet fashion, movie news and more.
