After 25 Years Sitting Down, Larry King Will Do Stand Up

Larry King

Larry King the one-man interviewing machine is now Larry King the one-man showman.

Mr. King, who stepped down in December after 25 years as the host of CNN’s “Larry King Live,” will begin a national tour of a new autobiographical show, called “Larry King: Standing Up,” in the spring. According to a press release, the show is a comedic look at Mr. King’s “life growing up as a street-smart kid in Brooklyn” and his decades as as a broadcast journalist; Mr. King will participate in a Q&A with audience members at each performance. Jim Millan, the creative director of the Kids in the Hall comedy troupe, will direct.

The show begins performances in Torrington, Conn., on April 14; the stop nearest to New York City will be in Westbury, N.Y., on April 16. Other cities on the tour include Baltimore, Atlantic City and Las Vegas, with more dates to be announced.
