Alliance for Women in Media to Host NAB Event

The Alliance for Women in Media (AWM) will present “The Women’s Room” for the first time at the NAB Show in Las Vegas on April 8. The event is limited to 200 registrants who will be served a healthy breakfast, have a professional headshot taken, receive feedback on their social media profile and be able to make connections with fellow women in media.

The event host committee includes Caroline Beasley, EVP-CFO, Beasley Broadcast Group; Michelle Duke, VP, NAB Education Foundation; Sarah Foss, media consultant; Kay Olin, president, Local Focus Radio; and Christine Travaglini, president, Christal Radio (Katz Radio Group).

“The Alliance for Women in Media is excited to create a fun, dynamic, and professional community within the NAB Show — and we are thrilled by the high-impact women who have already stepped forward to support this new event,” said Erin M. Fuller, CAE, AWM president. “We are glad to be working with our long-term partners, NAB and NAB Education Foundation who have been such fantastic partners in launching The Women’s Room.”

In addition to providing a healthy start to the day, The Women’s Room attendees can:

  • Interact and engage with seasoned, top women professionals in the world of broadcast media, as well as connect with other women media professionals, creating a community of like-minded people within a very large, busy conference environment.
  • Access the event-participant-only LinkedIn group that will be created before the event and maintained for at least 12 months after the event.
  • Update their professional headshot (photographers and backdrop will be set up on site — limited to the first 50 who sign up on site).
  • Gain tips on how to better position their social media profile from social media, marketing and media company HR experts and executives with hiring power (limited to the first 100 who sign up on site).
