Amber Lee New KCBS-KCAL Meteorologist

Amber Lee has been promoted to meteorologist on weekend evening newscasts at CBS-owned KCBS and KCAL in Los Angeles (DMA 2), effective immediately.

Lee, a Southern California native who has provided weather forecasts during weekend morning newscasts since joining KCBS-KCAL in September 2012, will now appear on the duopoly’s 5, 6, 8, 9, 10 and 11 p.m. newscasts on Saturdays and Sundays. In addition, she will continue to work weekdays as a general assignment reporter for the stations.

Prior to joining KCBS-KCAL in 2012, Lee worked for stations in Albuquerque, N.M.; San Luis Obispo, Calif.; and Coos Bay, Ore.

Lee earned her bachelor’s degree in communication studies at California State University in Northridge, and a master’s degree in journalism from Quinnipiac University in Connecticut. She earned her certificate in meteorology through Mississippi State University’s Broadcast Meteorology Program.
