Amy Andrews Promoted To WJBK A.M. Anchor

Fox O&O WJBK Detroit (DMA 13) has named Amy Andrews weekday anchor of Fox 2 News Morning, alongside Jay Towers, from 6 to 9 a.m.

She will also continue to co-anchor the 11 a.m. news with Sherry Margolis (Monday-Wednesday). In addition, Deena Centofanti (weekdays) and Maurielle Lue (Monday-Wednesday) will now partner to anchor The Nine, the station’s daily 9-11 a.m. newscast. On Thursdays and Fridays, Roop Raj will take over Andrews’ duties at 11 a.m. and Lue’s position on The Nine.

Most recently, Andrews anchored The Nine and the 11 a.m. newscast on WJBK and does a weekly Amy’s Angels franchise that highlights those making a difference in their communities. Before that, she served as morning anchor for the station’s 4:30 a.m. weekday newscast and regularly contributed to The Nine. Prior to that, she was an anchor for Better Mid-Michigan on WNEM Flint, Mich. Earlier, she worked as a reporter and anchor for KSBY San Luis Obispo, Calif.

In addition to Centofanti’s new role on The Nine, she will expand her national Health Works franchise, with an opportunity for more local and original reporting. Centofanti has been with WJBK since 1997, dedicating most of her career to covering health stories, while also an anchor on The Nine. Prior to WJBK, Centofanti held her first on-air position in Steubenville, OH and began her career in broadcasting as a production assistant at WSYX Columbus, OH.

Besides anchoring The Nine Monday-Wednesday, Lue will also continue her role as weekday anchor (4:30-6 a.m.) and weekend morning co-anchor with Charlie Langton. Prior to The Nine, Lue anchored the 4:30-6 a.m. weekday news and weekend morning news. Before that, she was a general assignment reporter and anchor for WEWS Cleveland. She previously anchored, reported, and produced for WVVA Bluefield-Beckley-Oak Hill, W. Va.
