Anchor Arlena Amaro Joins KVDA San Antonio

Telemundo’s KVDA San Antonio, Texas (DMA 33), has named Arlena Amaro co-anchor for Noticias 60 Telemundo weekdays at 4:30, 5 and 10 p.m.

She will join co-anchor Alex Hernandez, weather anchor Lilian Perez and sports anchor Johnathan Solarte.

Amaro joins Telemundo 60 from WLTV Miami, where she was a general assignment reporter and correspondent for Noticiero Univision, Edición Nocturna and Despierta América from 2010 to 2014.

Prior to this, she worked at WGEN Miami as a legal reporter from 2009 to 2010. Amaro also worked at America CV Network in Miami as an anchor and reporter from 2007 to 2009 and at America Teve in Miami throughout 2007 as a reporter. She began her broadcast career in 2006 as an assistant producer for Noticiero Univision.

She received a Bachelor of Science degree in communications and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish from Florida International University. She also holds a master’s degree in Spanish.
