SHARON - The Sharon Education Foundation and Sharon High School have teamed up to provide a year-long program designed to help educate parents, teachers, students and the community at large about the epidemic of drug and alcohol abuse in and around Sharon.

"It lives here, too – drug and alcohol abuse in Sharon" is a multifaceted program that began with a staff and faculty education program that explores substance abuse from a variety of lenses.

The next event in this campaign comes on Tuesday, Feb. 4

at 6 p.m. when motivational speaker, comedian and Ph.D. Matt Bellace will be speaking at Sharon High School to discuss concepts from his book, "A Better High" - ways to pursue natural highs and make healthier choices.

According to Bellace, "Young people need to feel empowered in their schools and communities. It is not enough to ask them to stay away from drugs and alcohol, we need to show them there are positive things they can do for themselves and others. They must all be leaders in their lives."

Since 1995, Bellace has spoken at hundreds of schools and organizations.

Admission is free, but space is limited. For more information about Bellace, visit
