Anchor Whitney Martin Joins WDJT Morning News

Weigel Broadcasting’s CBS affiliate WDJT Milwaukee has added Whitney Martin as a new anchor on CBS 58 Morning News.

She joins Mike Curkov and Jessica Tighe on the 4:30-7 a.m. newscast.  Her first day on the anchor desk will be Monday, April 3.

Martin joins WDJT from WIFR Rockford, Ill., where she spent 10 years, starting as an intern and working her way up to 10 p.m. anchor/reporter. The move is a reunion of sorts for Martin and co-anchor Mike Curkov.  They worked together several years ago at the Rockford station.

Whitney received the Illinois Broadcasters Association Silver Dome Award for Best TV Reporter in the state. She was named one of the Rockford Register Star’s Readers’ Choice Awards “Top TV Personalities” three years in a row and was named a “40 Under 40” Leader by the Rockford Chamber of Commerce.
