Andrew Jackson Named GM Of KITV

The SVP of marketing and creative services at BBC America returns to Hawaii to succeed the retiring Michael Rosenberg as head of Hearst's Honolulu ABC affiliate.

Andrew C. Jackson, who spent his early career at two of Honolulu’s major television stations — including KITV, the Hearst Television ABC affiliate there — will return to KITV later this month as president and general manager.

He succeeds Michael Rosenberg, who in July announced his plans to retire, capping a four-decade local-television career.

“We are delighted to welcome Andrew back to Hearst Television,” said David J. Barrett, Hearst Television president-CEO. “We’ve kept our eye on him as his career has developed in such a varied and successful manner in recent years. His experiences and professional accomplishments have prepared him well for his new leadership responsibilities at KITV.”

Jackson most recently was SVP, marketing and creative services, at BBC America, which he joined in 2005 as VP, on-air and creative services. Previously, he was director, on-air marketing at the FX cable network and, before that, he was creative director at The WB.

The first dozen years of his television career were spent at local stations, including six years at Honolulu’s KGMB and four years at KITV, in management positions overseeing marketing and promotion. His local television experience includes marketing and promotion positions at KTVU San Francisco and at WBZL Miami.

Jackson holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida’s Gannett School of Journalism, where he specialized in electronic media.
