Ashley Gold Messina Named GM Of KRON

Media General today named Ashley Gold Messina vice president and general manager of MNT affiliate KRON San Francisco (DMA 6), effective Sept. 10. Messina is currently VP-GM of WDCW Washington. She succeeds Brian Greif, who left KRON in January.

Messina has been with WDCW since 2001 when she joined the station as a local account executive. She became national sales manager for the station in 2007 and general sales manager in 2009.

She was named to her current position in 2010.

Messina began her broadcast career with WITH-FM Washington. She graduated from the University of Maryland with a BS in marketing and a BS in international business.

She is a board member of the Maryland, Delaware, DC Broadcasters Association and a graduate of the National Association of Broadcasters Leadership Training Program. She serves as a guest speaker for the University of Maryland Business School, focusing on women in leadership and media.
