Bahakel Paying $3.5M For CW In Montgomery

In addition to buying WBMM Montgomery-Salem, Ala., from Sagamore Hill for $3.5 million, Bahakel is entering into contracts to operate its ABC affiliate, WNCF. Counting the CBS affiliate it already owns, WAKA, Bahakel will end up with three stations in the market following FCC approval.

Bahakel Communications in paying $3.5 million to acquire CW affiliate WBMM Montgomery-Salem, Ala., from Sagamore Hill Broadcasting as part of Bahakel’s plan to operate three stations in the market (DMA 117).

The price was disclosed in an FCC filing dated today.

As previously announced, Bahakel is buying WBMM and entering into a contract to operate Sagamore’s ABC affiliate, WNCF. Bahakel already owns the market’s CBS affiliate, WAKA.

According to Bahakel, if all goes well at the FCC and the deal closes, the consolidated operations will move next year into newly expanded and fully HD facilities on Harrison Road in Montgomery, the current home of WNCF and WBMM.

Bahakel is owned by a family trust headed by Beverly Poston, who is also president and CEO.
