Bahakel Renews Its Nielsen Contract

The group owner will continue to have the ratings service’s various tools at its five TV stations.

Bahakel Communications has signed a multiyear agreement for Nielsen’s Local Television Measurement. Bahakel has renewed Nielsen services for stations in all five of its television markets: Montgomery, Ala.; Jackson, Tenn.; Columbia, S.C.; Myrtle Beach, S.C.; and Charlotte, N.C.

The renewal provides Bahakel Nielsen’s local TV ratings data. Additionally, the agreement offers access to tools that provide consumer viewing, purchasing habits and ad sales data, including products including Nielsen Local TV (NLTV), Nielsen Scarborough and Ad Intel to aid in better optimizing their commercial inventory.

“Nielsen’s local measurement products, qualitative services and dedication to enhancing their capabilities helped us conclude that they are the best in this business and have the leading solution for our sales and programming efforts,” said Jim Babb, Bahakel’s chief operating officer. “We are excited to continue this relationship to see the growth and opportunity their insights will provide us and help us win in the marketplace.”

“We are delighted to support Bahakel Communications and their efforts to bring compelling and unique advertising insights to their advertising partners,” said Jeff Wender, Nielsen’s managing director, local client solutions. “This agreement supplies Bahakel with the tools they need to more effectively compete in their markets, capture more ad dollars and deliver higher ROI to their advertisers.”
