BELO ANNOUNCES EXECUTIVE CHANGES
Dallas-based Belo Corp. announced the promotion of several key executives and certain changes in reporting relationships, effective Feb. 1, 2006. Robert W. Decherd, Belo’s chairman, president and chief executive officer, described the moves as “important steps in the company’s preparedness for an ever-changing media environment.”
The new executive alignment is:
John L. (Jack) Sander is promoted to vice chairman, reporting to Decherd. In this role, Sander will advise Decherd and other members of the management team until Sander’s retirement on Dec. 31, 2006.
Dunia A. Shive—ÂÂpresident/media operations (oversees all TV, cable news and interactive operations, plus two newspapers).
Dennis A. Williamson—ÂÂexecutive VP/CFO (reports to Decherd).
Donald F. (Skip) Cass Jr.—ÂÂexecutive VP/media operations responsible for television stations and cable news operations in Houston (KHOW), Phoenix (KASW AND KTVK), St. Louis (KMOV), San Antonio (KENS and KBEJ) and Tucson (KMSB AND KTTU), as well as The Providence Journal and The Press-Enterprise (Riverside, Calif). He reports to Shive.
David T. Lougee—ÂÂexecutive VP/media operations responsible for television stations and cable news operations in Seattle/Tacoma (KING and KONG), Portland (KGW), Charlotte (WCNC), Hampton/Norfolk (WVEC), New Orleans (WWL), Louisville (WHAS), Austin (KVUE), Spokane (KREM and KSKN) and Boise (KTVB), as well as Belo’s Capital Bureau in Washington, D.C. He reports to Shive.
Peter L. Diaz—ÂÂsenior VP responsible for KHOW Houston, KMOV St. Louis and KENS and KBEJ San Antonio. He reports to Cass.
Richard J. (Rick) Keilty—ÂÂsenior VP responsible for WWL New Orleans, WVEC Hampton/Norfolk, WHAS Louisville and KVUE Austin. He reports to Lougee.
Kathy E. Clements—ÂÂpresident/GM of WFAA-TV Dallas She reports to Shive.
Wesley A. Jackson—ÂÂsenior VP, interactive media. He reports to Shive.
