Betsy Braun Named WCVB-WMUR PD

Betsy Braun joins Hearst Television Inc.’s Boston duopoly of ABC Affils WCVB and WMUR program director effective Jan. 12.

She will oversee programming for both stations and manage media relations for WCVB. Braun, a veteran television programmer, comes from Braun Media & Marketing, a firm specializing in digital marketing and public relations campaigns for small businesses in New York and Philadelphia among other East Coast cities.

Prior to her work as president of Braun Media & Marketing, Braun was VP of programming and development for NBC Universal TV.  In that position, she oversaw the daily production of syndicated programs such as The Jane Pauley Show, The John Walsh Show and Your Total Health.

While director of current programming for Telepictures Productions in Burbank, Calif., Braun managed several syndicated game and reality dating shows including Street Smarts, Change of Heart and Elimidate.

Braun has also served as VP of research for Universal Television in Los Angeles, program director for TV station rep firm, Seltel Inc. in New York and as an account executive for Nielsen Media Research. She began her career as a research analyst and publicity coordinator at WCAU Philadelphia.

A graduate of the University of Delaware with a degree in communications, Braun also holds a certificate in digital marketing from New York University.
