Biamp, Icron Set Joint Product Interoperability

Biamp Systems, a provider of networked media systems, and Icron Technologies Corp., a USB and video extension technology provider, confirmed successful testing and validation between Icron’s ExtremeUSB-based USB 2.0 Ranger 2201 and 2211 with flexible power USB extenders and Biamp’s TesiraFORTÉ digital audio processor systems.

The TesiraFORTÉ series of products includes eight different configurations: four Audio Video Bridging (AVB) and four non-AVB models. All configurations have fixed I/O tailored for specific applications and are designed to bring greater simplicity and more options to conferencing, telephony, and VoIP environments.

Each model is equipped with best-in-class audio features including Sona Acoustic Echo Cancellation (AEC) and SpeechSense to provide clear, echo-free audio communication as well as support for up to eight channels of configurable USB audio.

Icron’s USB 2.0 Ranger series provides true USB 2.0 extension at up to 480 Mbps over Cat 5e cabling up to 100m and up to 10km when used with fiber optics. Both the Ranger 2201 and 2211 extender models come with a two-year warranty and include the ExtremeUSB suite of features such as transparent USB extension, true plug and play (no software drivers), and compatibility with all major operating systems — Windows, OS X and Linux.

“With USB audio increasingly becoming a requirement for AV systems in today’s conference rooms, we work with a few manufacturers to ensure their equipment works with our products,” shared Kiley Henner, director of customer experience for Biamp Systems. “When using USB extenders in installations where the distance between a TesiraFORTÉ and the computer equipment is greater than five meters, ExtremeUSB extenders reliably provide the connection that maintains optimum sound quality.”
