Bounce TV Renews ‘Uptown Comic’ For Season 2

Bounce TV, the broadcast TV network for African Americans, will premiere the second season of its original comedy series Uptown Comic this fall with actor and comedian Rodney Perry (Tyler Perry’s Madea’s Big Happy Family, Mo’Nique Show) as host, it was announced Thursday by Bounce TV COO Jonathan Katz.

Uptown Comic is a half-hour series featuring stand-up performances by up-and-coming comics. The show’s second season will begin production in Atlanta this month.

Perry was the co-host of The Mo’Nique Show on BET as well as a host of TV One’s Who’s Got Jokes. He has been the opening act for comedians including George Lopez, Cedric the Entertainer, Steve Harvey and Mo’Nique.  Perry also starred in Tyler Perry’s Madea’s Big Happy Family and is preparing his first comedy special for television entitled Rodney Perry All The Way LIVE! for the fall.
