Brad Johansen Joining WRAL News Team In April

Capitol Broadcasting’s NBC affiliate WRAL Raleigh, N.C. (DMA 25) is adding Brad Johansen to its news team beginning in April 2018.

Johansen will anchor a number of newscasts alongside the current WRAL team of Debra Morgan, Gerald Owens, Kathryn Brown and David Crabtree, the latter of whom is set to retire late next year.

Johansen is a veteran news and sports journalist, currently anchoring the 4, 5:30 and 10 p.m. newscasts at WKRC Cincinnati, Ohio. He has worked for WKRC since 1992 and has 21 local Emmy awards and two national Gracie Awards for his work.

Prior to WKRC, Johansen worked at television stations across the country including in Peoria, Ill.; Lansing, Mich.; San Luis Obispo, Calif.; and Las Vegas.

Johansen completed his undergraduate work in 1984 at Bradley University with a double major in speech communications and broadcast journalism and a minor in theater.
