Brendan Higgins To Co-Anchor KTVT Mornings

Brendan Higgins will return to Dallas-Fort Worth television as co-anchor of CBS 11 News This Morning, weekdays from 4:30 to 7 a.m. on CBS-O&O KTVT. Higgins will join Adrienne Bankert on the anchor desk beginning Monday, June 25.

Higgins is a Dallas native and received his undergraduate degree from the University of North Texas. After graduating, he covered the state legislature in Baton Rouge for the Louisiana NBC affiliates and later the Alabama state legislature for WAKA Montgomery, Ala.

He went on to become an investigative reporter and fill-in anchor for WBRC Birmingham, Ala., and then a reporter and fill-in anchor for News 12 in New York.

Higgins joined KXAS as a reporter in 1998 and also worked as an investigative reporter until becoming weekend anchor in 1999. In 2004, he began co-anchoring NBC 5 Today.

Since leaving KXAS in January 2010, Higgins has written, produced and hosted a pilot for Wasted America, a program exposing government waste. He also created, produced and hosted a pilot for SwiftAir, an emerging WiFi content network.
