Brien Blakely Joins WJZY’s ‘Good Day Charlotte’

Fox-owned WJZY Charlotte, N.C. (DMA 22), has hired Brien Blakely as weekday anchor of Good Day Charlotte alongside Page Crawford and Barbara Lash, effective Jan. 11, 2016.

Most recently, Blakely was morning anchor and reporter at KCPQ Seattle. Previously, he was the main anchor for WCCB Charlotte.Prior to that, Blakely was morning anchor for KPNX Phoenix.

Before anchoring local news, he hosted a variety of shows, including an entertainment news show on E!, a remodeling show on Home and Garden TV and a magazine show for National Enquirer TV. Earlier, he served as a sideline correspondent for Battle Dome.

A graduate of Western Kentucky University, Blakely holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications.
