Calif. Broadcasters Name John Paley Chairman

The California Broadcasters Association has elected John Paley chairman of the CBA board of directors.

Paley joined Lotus Communication’s KWKW-AM Los Angeles in 1971 and served in various executive positions including general manager of it and KIRN-AM, also in Los Angeles.

Prior to joining Lotus, Paley worked in management for both ABC Radio and CBS Radio. He was recently named Lotus VP for corporate and community relations, tasked with overseeing localism efforts for the station group.

Lotus owns and operates 27 radio and TV stations in five states including 13 Spanish, 13 English and 1 Farsi language station.

CBA President/CEO Stan Statham said; “John has served for many years on the CBA board of directors and is a tremendous resource to have as chairman.”

Paley stated: “We look forward to continuing the great work of the CBA to protect broadcasters and help them serve their communities. As broadcasters continue to adapt and innovate to the changing audience, the fundamentals of serving the community and connecting to viewers and listeners remain our primary goal.”

Since 1947 the CBA has represented the radio and television stations operating in California. Today it has more than 1,000 member stations.
