Carlos San José Named GM of WTMO Orlando

ZGS Communications’ taps the Hispanic media executive to lead its Telemundo affiliate. 

ZGS Communications-owned Telemundo affiliate WTMO-CD Orlando, Fla. (DMA 18), on Tuesday appointed Carlos San José SVP and general manager. He succeeds Larry De La Rosa who left earlier this month.

San José will oversee all aspects of the station, including sales, news, marketing, online initiatives and community outreach. San José will report to Ronald J. Gordon, CEO of ZGS Communications.

San José brings over three decades of experience in sales, management and brand leadership in the U.S. Hispanic market to WTMO. Before joining ZGS Communications, San José was SVP-GM of Univision Television Group’s WGBO and WXFT Chicago, as well as the VP of national Hispanic sales at Citadel Media, previously ABC Radio Networks.

San José also held positions at Univision Chicago (WOJO), NBC Miami (WTVJ) and Univision Miami (WLTV), where he was integral in the development and launch of Sábado Gigante.

San José started his career in radio at WINZ-WLYF-WHTT Miami and studied at Florida International University.
