CBS To Air Grammy Salute To Whitney Houston
Grammy Award winners Celine Dion, Usher and Jennifer Hudson are the first performers announced for a CBS special to air November 16th – We Will Always Love You: A Grammy Salute to Whitney Houston. The late singer was a six-time Grammy winner.
The special will tape on Thursday, Oct. 11 at Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE, and air Friday, Nov. 16 (10:00-11:00P p.m., ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
CBS and The Recording Academy say the special will include never-before-seen footage and exclusive interviews, along with artists sharing their memories of Houston. It will also feature highlights of Houston’s career.
Whitney Houston sold a combined 170 million albums, songs and videos, garnering six Grammys and two Emmys. She performed eight times on the Grammy Awards broadcasts.
Most recently, she appeared as a presenter at the 51st Annual Grammy Awards in 2009, presenting Jennifer Hudson with her first Grammy, for Best R&B Album.
Whitney Houston died in February at age 48.
