Changing GMs At WWMT Grand Rapids

The CBS-CW affiliate’s long-time leader Jim Lutton will retire in July and be succeeded by Fred Corbus, the current sales director.

Sinclair Broadcast Group’s CBS affiliate WWMT Grand Rapids-Kalamazoo, Mich. (DMA 44) today announced that General Manager Jim Lutton will retire from television on July 14.

He has been GM of WWMT-TV and its CW subchannel for the last 10 1/2 years, the longest-serving general manager in the station’s history.

Lutton will be succeeded by Fred Corbus, WWMT’s director of sales. Corbus had worked at WWMT earlier in his career before leaving in 2007. He then worked at both WOOD Grand Rapids and WXYZ Detroit before returning to WWMT in 2015 as director of sales.

“Jim has been a strong and tremendous leader over the last 10 years here in West Michigan. He has truly taken both WWMT and CW7 to the next level. I wish him and his family the very best as he moves on to the next chapter of his life.” said James Killen, Sinclair Broadcast Group group manager.
