Chris Way Named KTNV Las Vegas GM

Scripps is moving the broadcast and digital media veteran from KMTV Omaha to lead its Nevada ABC affiliate beginning next month.

Scripps-owned ABC affiliate KTNV Las Vegas (DMA 40) has appointed Chris Way vice president and general manager effective June 12.

Way now is VP-GM of Scripps’ KMTV Omaha, Neb. Lana Durban Scott, a director of news strategy for Scripps, will be interim GM at KMTV until the company announces his permanent replacement.

Way is an industry veteran who has focused his career on digital media. He was the director of digital media for KLAS Las Vegas, where he managed the station’s overall digital business. He also was the chief technology officer for The New York Times Co.’s Broadcast Media Group and was the director of business development for Lakana, a content management platform company.

His experiences include various station and corporate roles, from newsrooms and technology to leading digital media sales and content teams. He recognized the significance of digital media early and was instrumental in launching digital businesses during his time at KFOR Oklahoma City, KFMB San Diego and The New York Times Co.

Way graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Oklahoma.
