Comcast Ups Kathy Zachem To Legislative EVP

Comcast has promoted Kathy Zachem to executive vice president, regulatory and state legislative affairs. Zachem oversees Comcast’s advocacy before federal agencies, including the FCC, as well as in the state regulatory and legislative environments in which the company operates. She will continue to report to David L. Cohen, Comcast senior EVP and chief diversity officer.

Zachem joined Comcast in 2008 and has led the company’s advocacy before federal agencies and state regulatory and legislative bodies. Prior to Comcast, she was a founding partner of the law firm Wilkinson Barker Knauer, where she practiced communications law for 23 years.

Zachem is the recipient of numerous awards and accolades. In 2016, she was a recipient of the NCTA – The Internet & Television Association’s Vanguard Award for Government & Community Relations. In 2014, she was named a “Wonder Woman” by Multichannel News, and in 2012 she was one of Legal Momentum’s “Aiming High” awardees.

She is a graduate of the George Mason University School of Law and has a joint bachelor’s degree in economics and political science from George Washington University.
