Cox Names Rob Rohr Ohio Market VP

He will succeed the retiring Julia Wallace in overseeing Cox Media Group’s Ohio properties.

Cox Media Group today named Rob Rohr as CMG Ohio Market VP, effective immediately. Rohr replaces Julia Wallace, who announced her retirement earlier this year.

“Selecting Rob for this role was an easy decision,” said EVP Mike Joseph. “He is a proven leader with experience on the sales and content side of our business. We also believe in promoting talent from within the company, so I’m proud to announce this move.”

Prior to becoming market vice president, Rohr was SVP-GM of CMG Ohio, where he led a team responsible for producing and distributing news and information for the company’s local brands, including WHIO-TV, the Dayton Daily News, WHKO-FM Dayton and WHIO-AM-FM Dayton, the Springfield News-Sun and the Journal-News.

During his career with Cox, Rohr also led the company’s retail, classified and digital sales strategy teams in Dayton as well as a national sales force group for Cox Target Media based in Tampa, Fla. Rohr is active in the local business community, playing a role in the Dayton Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Leadership Dayton, the Greater Dayton Advertising Federation and the presenting board for TEDxDayton.
