Crown Media Signs Long-Term Deal With Rentrak

Multi-screen media measurement firm Rentrak Corp. announced that it has signed a long-term TV Essentials contract with Crown Media Holdings Inc. for its Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movie Channel cable networks. Hallmark used Rentrak’s proprietary “Stickiness Index” during the 2011 upfront season.

“We expanded our relationship to a full subscription to Rentrak’s TV measurement service so that Hallmark could explore dual guarantees for its networks through Rentrak’s unique and stable targeted ratings for specific advertiser targets,” said Ed Georger, executive vice president, advertising sales, Crown Media Holdings. “We look forward to developing greater value for our ad sales clients via the rich offerings Rentrak is delivering in the automotive, movie and credit worthy consumer categories.”

TV Essentials is a television ratings database currency that provides daily measurement of all U.S. TV networks in all 210 U.S. TV markets. The service incorporates data from more than 19 million satellite, telco and cable television sets and integrates it with product consumption information.
