Current Media Names Meyer EVP Corp. Comm.

TV and digital media company Current Media has appointed Jeanne Meyer to the newly-created role of executive vice president, corporate communications.   Meyer, who reports to Current TV’s CEO Mark Rosenthal and is based in the company’s New York office, has more than 20 years of senior-level experience managing communications for some of the world’s best-known media, entertainment, digital and consumer brands.

In this role, Meyer joins Current TV’s executive team and will drive internal and external communications strategy as the company, now in more than 74 million households around the world and online at www.current.com, continues its global expansion.  She will help Current TV communicate its new direction into storytelling and long-form original programming.

Meyer joins Current TV from music company EMI, where she was SVP, corporate communications for the Americas from 2002 until 2010. Prior to that Meyer oversaw communications efforts at e-commerce company Toysrus.com and at pioneering Internet TV company Pseudo Programs.  She also worked on behalf of a range of media, entertainment, digital and consumer product companies as a SVP at strategic communications firm Robinson Lerer & Montgomery, and as SVP-general manager at Dan Klores Communications.  She also held communications roles at Lever Brothers Co. and at Dorf & Stanton Communications (now part of Weber Shandwick).

She has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
