Darlene Hill Leaving WFLD Chicago After 23 Years

Darlene Hill, the 6-10 a.m. anchor of Good Day Chicago on Fox O&O WFLD Chicago (DMA 3), is leaving after 23 years at the station. Information obtained on background was that WFLD and Hill couldn’t come to terms on a new contract.

Hill said: “I want to thank all of the viewers in Chicago, the people who allowed me to tell their stories every day from the city to the suburbs. The past 23 years have been magical and I’ve been fortunate to be a part of an award-winning news team at Fox32 News. I’m not sure what the future holds but I’m excited about the next steps on this new journey.”

WFLD VP-GM Dennis Welsh commented: “After numerous discussions we are announcing today that unfortunately Darlene Hill has decided to leave Fox 32. We want to thank her for her many years of service to Chicagoans and we wish her the best of luck in her future endeavors.”

Hill’s replacement on Good Day Chicago is Anita Padilla.
