Delia Is New Dispatch Broadcast Group Pres.

The broadcast arm of Dispatch Printing Co. promotes Larry Delia, the GM of its Indianapolis stations, to president , adding oversight of its Columbus, Ohio, CBS affiliate.

Thirty-two-year broadcast television veteran Larry Delia today was named president of the Dispatch Printing Co.’s television division, Dispatch Broadcast Group. Delia has been president-general manager of Dispatch’s WTHR (NBC) and WALV-CD (MNT) in Indianapolis since August 2013.

“I’m very pleased to be able to recognize Larry’s talents and contributions in Indianapolis and see that effort expanded across both of our television properties,” said Michael J. Fiorile, chairman-CEO of Dispatch Printing Co. “His commitment to excellence is reflected daily at his station, particularly in his local news product, and it is seen in the goodwill efforts throughout the communities it serves.”

In his expanded role, Delia will continue to oversee daily operations at WTHR-WALV as well as the company’s other TV property, WBNS Columbus, Ohio. “Larry’s leadership and strategic vision has solidified WTHR’s dominance in a very competitive market,” said Joseph Y. Gallo, president-COO of Dispatch Printing Co. “His experience will serve the Dispatch Broadcasting Group legacy well.”

Delia has been a general manager for 18 years, the last five in Indianapolis. Prior to his arrival at WTHR in 2013, Delia was VP-GM of WXIN and WTTV, Tribune Media’s Indianapolis duopoly since 2011.

Prior to WXIN-WTTV, Delia was VP-GM of Tribune’s WPMTn Harrisburg, Pa. From 2002 to 2008 he was VP-GM of WGNO-WNOL New Orleans. During his time in New Orleans he successfully planned, executed and managed the Hurricane Katrina crisis.

Delia has also served as VP-GM of WVNY Burlington, Vt., as well as general sales manager of WTIC Hartford, Conn.

Delia is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
