‘Dr. Oz’ Names Chief Women’s Health Contributor

The syndicated Dr. Oz Show has appointed Dr. Jennifer Ashton its first chief women’s health contributor. Joining the show in its eighth season, Ashton, who is board-certified in ob-gyn and obesity medicine will offer her expertise in women’s health and nutrition. 

“We are thrilled to have Dr. Jennifer Ashton join us as the first-ever chief women’s health contributor for The Dr. Oz Show,” says Dr. Mehmet Oz. “As we begin season eight, it is our mission to tackle a lot of women’s health findings and issues in today’s society. Dr. Ashton’s approachability, combined with her credentials, will be an asset to our viewers as she is a definitive voice for women’s health in the modern age.”

Ashton, who is also the chief women’s health correspondent for ABC News and Good Morning America, will debut on “The Oz Report on Health in America: The Story of Women 2016,” offering expertise on the state of women’s health alongside Dr. Oz.

Ashton, who is completing a master’s degree in nutrition at Columbia University, where she also attended medical school, is a practicing obstetrician gynecologist in Englewood, N.J. with more than 2,000 patients.

Ashton has also served as administrative chief resident at St Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York, where she was awarded the Chief Resident of the Year Award upon completing her training.

She is the author of three books:Your Body Beautiful, a comprehensive approach to vitality, beauty and health for women 30-50 years of age; The Body Scoop for Girls: A Straight-Talk Guide to a Healthy, Beautiful You; and Eat This Not That While Expecting.
