Elliott Wiser Named GM Of WTSP Tampa

Gannett’s Broadcasting Division today named Elliott Wiser president and general manager of its CBS affiliate WTSP Tampa-St. Petersburg, Fla. (DMA 14). He succeeds Ken Tonning, who is retiring after 38 years with Gannett.

Wiser has held many leading roles at a number of broadcast properties. With more than 16 years of experience in the Tampa market, Wiser comes to WTSP from Bright House Networks where he served as corporate VP of local programming. Prior to Bright House, Wiser launched Bay News 9 and led the organization as VP- general manager.

Wiser received a bachelor’s degree in broadcasting from The George Washington University and a master’s degree in media management from the University of Missouri.
