Entravision 2Q TV Revenue Gets 13% Boost

Core advertising, political and retrans drive it up to more than $37 million from last year at this time.

Entravision Communications Corp. on Thursday reported a 13% gain in television net revenue to $37.4 million in the second quarter ended June 30.

The increase was primarily attributable to increases in core advertising revenue, political advertising revenue, which was not material in 2011, and retransmission consent revenue.

For the company as a whole, net revenue increased to $54.5 million from $50.3 million for the three-month period a year earlier, an increase of $4.2 million.

Operating expenses increased to $32.5 million for the three-month period from $31.8 million a year earlier, an increase of $700,000. The increase was primarily attributable to an increase in expenses associated with the increase in net revenue and an increase in salary expense.

Corporate expenses increased to $4.2 million in the quarter from $3.8 million a year earlier, an increase of $400,000. The increase was primarily attributable to the increase in non-cash stock-based compensation, interactive media-related expenses and salary expense.
