EstrellaTV Adds KMBY-LD Monterey-Salinas

LBI Media today announced that its national Hispanic television network, EstrellaTV, has added Cocola Broadcasting’s KMBY Monterey-Salinas, Calif. (DMA 124) to its list of affiliates. KMBY will air EstrellaTV on ch. 19.2.

Monterey-Salinas is the 34th largest U.S. Hispanic TV market, representing 68,800 Hispanic TV households. This new affiliate agreement gives EstrellaTV a presence in 10 California markets by way of two owned-and-operated stations and eight affiliate deals. Overall, EstrellaTV is present in 37 markets nationwide and reaches more than 77% of the U.S. Hispanic households.

“The Monterey Bay Area has a vibrant Hispanic community and we are excited to bring high-quality Spanish-language programming to KMBY and its viewers,” said Gary M. Cocola, chairman-CEO Cocola Broadcasting Companies. “Available over-the-air on ch. 19.2, we expect Comcast and Charter to carry EstrellaTV on their channel lineups in the coming months.”

EstrellaTV offers a lineup of original programming, including musical-variety, comedy, scripted drama, talk and game shows, as well as a daily national newscast and a news magazine show, all featuring Latin American talent.
