Facebook meets TV in personalized series

TV has been struggling for a way to cash in on the popularity of the social network Facebook for a couple of years now.

Warner Bros. may have finally figured out a way.

The studio — makers of shows like “Two and a Half Men” and “Gossip Girl” — announced yesterday that it is debuting a new series next month about Facebook that will allow users to put their own photos and friends into the show.

The show, called “Aim High,” is about a high school student, Nick Green, who lives a second, secret life as an undercover government agent.

Facebook users who opt in will see details from their profiles digitally added to the show — anything from seeing your face on a campaign poster for student council president or your name spray-painted on a bathroom wall.

Basically, the show will take information from users’ Facebook pages and incorporate it into the series — creating a way to personalize TV shows.

The series is set to begin in mid-October, according to the studio.
